Managerial Accounting

Managerial accounting is concerned with providing information to managers - people inside the organization. Who direct and control its operations. You will learn who type of information accounting system can provide to managers to support their decision making.

Understanding Corporate Value: Managing and Reporting Intellectual Capital

Knowledge being the new engine of corporate development has become one of the great clichés of recent years, but there is no doubt that successful companies tend to be those that continually innovate, relying on new technologies and the skills and knowledge of their employees rather than assets such as plans or machinery. Value generated by the intangibles is not always reflected in the financial statement. Forward looking companies have realized that these are integral part of fully understanding the performance of their business. The course is designed to familiarize students with different aspects of management and measurement of intellectual capital (IC).

Strategic Accounting

The aim of this course is to enable delegates to take forward their knowledge and competence in management accounting and apply accounting to strategy. This is all in the context of appreciating developing and contemporary issues in accounting and business. This is achieved through the group and individual coursework which is set and tutorial work undertaken. The tutorials will take a number of forms. Individual delegates can place emphasis on the aspects of tutorials that best meet their needs in terms of gaps in knowledge, learning objectives, career intentions etc.

Financial Analysis

The aim of this course is to enable students to form educated opinions about companies financial standing. The course focuses on financial statement analysis: structure, trends and indices. The course also includes methods of credit scoring and analysis used at commercial banks.
